Crighton's Guide To LR Cuisine

Local Luna

The Restaurant

Local Luna is an Arkansas Bistro, and not just any one at that. This restaurant has national acclaim and is one of our most celebrated restaurants. Needless to say I had high hopes and expectations walking into the restaurant.

The Order

Our trip to Local Luna was during the brunch hours of 10:00-2:00 on the weekends. We ordered "The First White Cheese Dip in America" for an appetizer, and I ordered the "Serious Chicken and Waffles" for my main course.

The Appetizer Review

As far as the cheese dip goes, I wouldn't doubt that it's the first of its kind. This is because of its rather generic taste, it tastes like they made a first draft and never came back to improve it. Mind you I don't think this is neccessarily bad, it's just nothing that would keep me coming back and not anything particularly unique.

The Main Course Review

The chicken and waffles on the other hand were fantastic! The honey-butter and maple syrup complement the spices of the chicken well. The cinnamon butter gives a nice creaminess to the waffles, and that combined with the crisp chicken and crunchy pecans makes for a wonderful mouthfeel. They were fantastic and I would reccomend them to anyone who likes these kinds of dishes, or to someone who wants to try something new.
