are very notable Black musicians! Created by President
Jimmy Carter in 1979, June is African American Music Appreciation Month. Gospel music orgiginated in the
Black church. The Blues originating from the South is
secular folk music, is essesntially vocal form but also instrumental where singers express feelings. Whereas Jazz,
also created by African Americans, is improvisational.
