The Local Courses of Arkansas

I did not think that Arkansas would have many courses that are famous in the realm of Disc Golf, but there are multiple that are very recognizable by the world. The top course in Arkansas is actually near Greenbrier, known as Persimmon Ridge. Persimmon Ridge was recently named the #6 Best Disc Golf Course in the World, which is crazy to me because it's located in Greenbrier, AR. Persimmon is a old golf course that has been repurposed and reused as a disc golf course, keeping the same ground layout and holes, but switching it up with concrete pads and baskets for each hole. I love this course, as it gives me a feeling of what it feels like to play at a course that is respected by the professionals.

Another course here in Conway, AR is not so famous, but is my absolute favorite course that I've played. Beaverfork Disc Golf is my number one course to play, and I absolutely love every single part of it. The front 9 is pretty open, allowing for some easier holes that have leway if I make an error. Some of the holes are really long, some are super short, and one hole has a water carry, which means you throw over a body of water. The back 9 switches the whole feeling up, with trees being in play and tight gaps that need to be thrown precisely to have a par look. The amount of trees that I have hit while playing the back 9 of Beaverfork is astounding, but I always go to that course to play, as it's where I first started playing disc golf, and is now my home course forever.
