The Restaurant
The Pantry is a German and Czech style eatery. While I have traveled some, I have never been to Germany, so I was excited to try German food.
The Order
We went to The Pantry during their dinner menu during the hours of 4-10PM. For our appetizer we ordered the "Pommes Frites", and for my main dish I wanted something traditional so I went with the "Breaded Jäger Schnitzel."
The Appetizer Review
The Pommes Frites were just french fries. I know, kinda boring, but I wanted to try them. They were really good, pretty solid fries with a nice spiced ketchup to dip in, or mayo if you prefer.
The Main Course Review
The Jäger Schnitzel was interesting. It had a nice crunch from the breading with noodles underneath, and the flavor of the gravy to accent it. However, I found it quite bland and flavorless. I have since learned this is common in traditional German foods, so it's likely a result of differing pallates. I don't think it was poorly made, it just definitely wasn't my kind of food.
