In my experience, over-the-top jewelry, such as rings,
chains, and earrings has always been seen in my eyes. Shiny,
big, and stacked heavy bling is all throughout the rap and
hip-hop culture. Whether rooted from the need to be flashy
or simply liking the style of having rings on every finger
and draped in gold, it is a symbol of wealth, representation,
and a fashion statement. In Africa, African jewelry was
worn everywhere on the body: arms, legs, neck, waist, ears,
and toes and even worn in hair as accessories.
