Hello! My name is Niki Nichols, and I'm currently a senior at the University of Central Arkansas, where I'm majoring in Computer Information Systems. Before embarking on this educational journey, I spent my entire career in the food and beverage industry, where I held various roles ranging from restaurant management to serving and bartending. I also gained valuable experience as a purchasing manager for a weight loss food company.
In early 2020, after an unexpected layoff and the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I found it challenging to secure work in my field. Determined to learn something new and pivot my career, I made the bold decision to return to college at the age of 41.
Family is incredibly important to me, and I cherish every moment spent with them. I have a deep love for learning and personal growth. In my leisure time, I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and marveling at breathtaking sunsets.
Throughout my time at UCA, I've acquired a diverse range of skills, including data analysis, data visualization, systems development, project management, and proficiency in programming languages and tools such as SQL, R, SAS, Python, and HTML/CSS. I'm excited to apply these skills to build a new career and make a positive impact in the world of technology.
